The Kylie Gang
My love affair with the Australian Cattle Dog began in 1981 when I "hired on" to help part-time on a cattle ranch in middle New Mexico. Their top dog, Rock, was my introduction to the ACD and permanently sealed my future as a Cattle Dog junkie.
It wasn't until years later after I had moved to Florida that I was able to get my very own ACD. That dog, Kylie's Cruces Blue UD HIC CGC, was a grandson of Rock and every bit his grandsire's equal in wowing me with this breed's intelligence, devotion and toughness.
Cruces introduced me to the world of canine competitions as a top obedience dog, and he maintained top rankings for ACDs in obedience from novice all the way through utility. He earned his UD title one year after being diagnosed with PRA and continued to help with stock for several years until his vision deteriorated to the point it was no longer safe for him to be working.
Of course, having a wonderful dog like Cruces did the inevitable, and pretty soon the Kylie Gang came into being. Sadly Cruces became a victim of Florida's disastrous 2004 hurricane season. He passed away at the very young-at-heart age of 13 and is, and will always be, missed tremendously.
This web site is dedicated in his honor and memory.
